MHA junior high students submitted meaningful and compelling artwork to Memphis Jewish Federation’s fourth annual Holocaust Art Contest. Along with entries from other Memphis schools, the MHA art pieces are currently hanging in the MJCC Art Gallery. Curated by students from Memphis College of Art, the exhibit runs through April 11th. The theme for this year’s contest was “Memory & Legacy: Contemplating the Art of Holocaust Survivor Samuel Bak.” Other schools included in the 41-piece exhibit are BSSS, Lausanne Collegiate School, Margolin Hebrew Academy, St. Agnes Academy and St. Mary’s School.
The art work of Samuel Bak is currently on display at the Temple Israel Museum.
